Anthony January talks recruitment
After coming off back to back dominating performances at Torrey Pines I caught up with 2012 Taft forward Anthony January to talk about his performance at Torrey Pines and his recruitment that might be taking another turn.
"As far as the tournament we are 2-0 because everybody is playing team ball and me I'm just trying to knock down open jump shots when they come my way, along with attacking the rim and playing solid defense."
January has been doing just that, averaging over 20 points per game so far along with 3 blocks per game.
When I asked about his recruitment January told me, "I'm still committed to UTEP but San Diego State along with UNLV have started to show interest so I just started to talk to them. "
January, who committed to UTEP during the summer, didn't sign his LOI during the early signing period so he is still able to take official visits and talk to any school he would like or to any school that would recruit him.
When asked what it will take for him to fully de-commit from UTEP January responded with, "If UNLV or San Diego State actually offered I would definitely think about de-committing but right now with no offers it looks like I will end up at UTEP."
With January playing the way he has been playing at Torrey Pines I'm sure both UNLV or San Diego State along with others that have watched are definitely thinking about offering to see what January would do.
