3-star wide receiver Ajani Carter commits to UTEP

At the beginning of August, new UTEP head coach Dana Dimel and fellow staff secured a commitment from a 3-star quarterback out of Houston. Now coach Dimel and Co. have plucked a 3-star wide receiver out of H-Town as North Shore's Ajani Carter announced his pledge to UTEP Wednesday night.

Also known as “AJ”, the 6’2 receiver held an offer from Indiana and was drawing P5 interest from the Big 12.

Carter’s commitment gives UTEP five total 2019 commits, making him the fourth offensive player to commit and third 3-star commitment for Dana Dimel in the still forming class of 2019.

UTEP had five prospects visit last weekend, including 2019 commits Deion Hankins, TJ Goodwin, and Quintavius Workman. 3-star wide receiver Khatib Lyles from El Paso Parkland -- who holds many offers -- was also in attendance, along with El Paso Chapin defensive lineman Lama Lavea.
