Kugler Looks Ahead to Rice

Fresh of their bye week, the UTEP Miners will embark on a three game road trip to start the second half of the season. The Miners will never leave the lone star state as their next three games are against Rice, Texas A&M, and North Texas.
With a record of 5-2, Rice appears to be the class of Conference USA. The Owls are undefeated in conference and hung tough earlier in the year against Texas A&M. Rice is fresh off a 45-19 thrashing of NMSU. The Owls gashed the Aggies defense for 409 rushing yards. That stat should alarm UTEP fans as the Miners are allowing 247 yards per game on the ground.
Coach Kugler talked about the Owls, gave an update on Aaron Jones's health, and assessed the first half of his first season:
Kugler also said he and the coaching staff spent the bye week on the recruiting trail looking at junior college players that could make an instant impact next season.
The Miners and Owls do battle at 1:30 on Saturday. The game wil be televised on the Comcast Sports South network.
