Scotty Walden and UTEP have made yet another splash in the transfer portal, as former Texas Tech safety Landon Hullaby is headed to the 915.

A 6-foot, 205-pound graduate of Mansfield Timberview High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Hullaby took an official visit to UTEP two weeks ago and evidently saw all he needed to see. Soon thereafter, he informed the Miner staff of his intent to join the program. Since entering the transfer portal, UTEP had been the only offer Hullaby had posted, and the only official visit he'd publicly announced.

A former three-star recruit, Hullaby signed with the Red Raiders in the 2022 cycle after being committed to Oregon for several months. He had decommitted from the Ducks shortly after then-head coach Mario Cristobal left for Miami. Injuries limited his availability throughout his career in Lubbock, and he only appeared in one game for Texas Tech.

Hullaby will have three years of eligibility remaining and should contend for immediate playing time in the Miners' revamped defense.
