The transfer portal giveth, and the transfer portal taketh away. Scotty Walden and UTEP have already felt the "taketh" aspect of the portal, as they lost star freshman DE Kyran Duhon to the transfer market last week.

However, the Miners are ready to reload with transfer additions of their own, and that effort began this weekend with over a dozen portal visitors in town. Scotty Walden and his staff have holes to fill; besides outbound transfers, they are also losing quite a few key offensive and defensive contributors to graduation. That includes starting wideout Trey Goodman, star defensive end Maurice Westmoreland and leading tackler Dorian Hopkins.

With that in mind, here's the low-down on where things stand for UTEP with several of the key transfers they're pursuing.
