Going into his UTEP official visit, Javarius Bell didn't have any explicit designs on committing right away. He held an offer from Texas State and had been hearing from several other schools.
But when he got out to the Sun City, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman saw all he needed to see. He shut down his recruitment on the spot, and today went public with his commitment to the Miners.
“Looking at what they had going on in the stadium and stuff like that — I ain’t never been out there in El Paso before," Bell told MinerInsider.com. "So it was like, let’s see what they got. And Coach [Walden] over the phone — that’s probably the most hyped coach I’ve ever seen in my life.”
