UTEP's run of success in the portal continues, as the Miners have added another productive piece to a deep backfield heading into 2025.

Charlotte running back Hahsaun Wilson, who rushed for 559 yards and seven touchdowns as a redshirt junior in 2024, has committed to UTEP and will join the program with one year of eligibility remaining. A native of Florence (S.C.), Wilson took an official visit to El Paso in mid-December and informed the UTEP staff on Sunday evening that he'd arrived at a decision.

A former two-star recruit in the class of 2021, Wilson spent four years at Charlotte. He took a redshirt as a true freshman, then appeared in nine games during the 2022 campaign, recording one carry for four yards. Come 2023, he earned a larger role in the backfield, carrying 54 times for 322 yards and three touchdowns. That set the table for a 2024 campaign in which Wilson set career highs in carries, yards, touchdowns and yards per carry.

He'll join a UTEP backfield that includes a talented crop of youngsters such as Ashten Emory and incoming freshmen Josh Bell and Elijah McCoy. The Miners have to replace former starting RB Jevon Jackson, who transferred to UAB.
