Welcome to MinerInsider, the online hub for UTEP fans

Hey folks! My name is Parker Thune, and I am a 10-year veteran of the sports journalism space. I joined Rivals last May after spending the previous two and a half years at 247Sports. As of today, I am the new publisher of MinerInsider, which is the only UTEP-exclusive media affiliate on the Internet.

I am currently the co-publisher of OUInsider.com, the Rivals affiliate dedicated to Oklahoma. But I proactively reached out to the corporate folks at Rivals last month with a desire to get this site rolling again, as it’s been dormant for far too long. In short, I undertook the task of resurrecting this site solely because I wanted to. Hopefully, that alone will indicate that I’m committed to bringing you top-tier coverage of Miner athletics.

The college football community is a smaller world than many realize, and I’ve become well acquainted with Coach Walden and many of his staffers over the years. I know what they’re bringing to the table in the 915, and how committed they are to building a winning program. I also have deep ties on the recruiting trail nationwide, but especially in the state of Texas, which will allow me to serve y’all with plenty of well-sourced intel on Miner recruits. And moreover, I know how passionate UTEP football fans are, and I figured many of the Miner faithful would enjoy having an online hub for in-depth coverage of their team. That hub literally doesn’t exist — well, until now. And on that note, let’s discuss what you are going to get as a MinerInsider subscriber.
